I used the Trailer Ride Gel for the first time last weekend. My 17 year old Gelding violently strikes/paws in the trailer to the point he has dug a hole in my polylast floor, has injured himself and makes me a nervous wreck going down the road. After using calming products in the past for showing that didn't really work, I never considered using a calming paste for trailering. I decided to give it a try, but, if I had to bet my life on it, I'd guess it wouldn't work. I gave "Tanner" a tube about an hour and a half before we left. I kept him outside in the pasture knowing that is where he would stay most quiet. When we loaded him up and closed the slant I was shocked the banging didn't start immediately. I thought once I close the trailer door he will start, but he didn't. Every light or stop sign I would wait for him to start striking, but nothing. He did paw once at one light and a little pulling into the fairgrounds but NOTHING compared to usual. Once parked I didn't feel rushed to get him unloaded. He just quietly waited to be unloaded. As a result, my yearling unloaded much quieter. I truly cannot believe how well this product worked for us. And the best part was, he wasn't drowsy. Bright eyed and alert without the nervous anxiety. I am thrilled to be able to haul him without causing him so much anxiety.
